Contributing to Banwatch

Banwatch works because communities look out for one another. You don't need to be a developer to help — here are the ways you can make the network better and safer for everyone.

Share good bans

The most valuable thing you can do is submit clear, honest bans. When you ban someone and choose to share it, add a factual reason and, where you can, attach evidence. Good records help other server owners make fair decisions. See Bans and the Ban Guidelines.

Add helpful evidence

Evidence turns a claim into something other servers can trust. When you add proof, include enough context to understand what happened, and blur out unrelated names so no one becomes a target for harassment. See Evidence.

Report problems

If you spot a ban that looks false, misleading, or unfair, please report it. Join the support server (run /support) and open a ticket. The Banwatch team reviews reports and can hide or remove bans that don't hold up.

Follow the code of conduct

Everyone using Banwatch agrees to a simple set of rules — no harassment, no false information, no hate speech, and never pressuring others to ban someone. Keeping to these rules is itself a contribution to a healthier network. The full list is in the Ban Guidelines.

Consider joining the staff team

Banwatch staff are trusted community members and server owners who volunteer to review and verify bans. If you'd like to help keep the network accurate and fair, mention your interest in the support server. Staff expectations and responsibilities are described in the Staff Guidelines.

Suggest features and improvements

Have an idea for a command, a setting, or something in these docs? Share it in the support server. Real feedback from server owners shapes what gets built next.

Thank you for helping keep the community safe. Welcome to the Banwatch collective!
